Women's Bean Project Spicy Split Pea Soup Mix

To Make, You Will Need: Contents of box + 4 cups of broth + 4 cups water + medium diced onion + 4-5 diced carrots + 2 tbsp. butter or olive oil. Cooking Instructions: 1. Remove spice packet. Wash and drain peas. 2. Combine peas, broth, and water in a 4 qt. pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer gently for 1 hour uncovered, or until peas are almost tender. Add broth or water as needed so that peas stay well covered. 3. While peas are simmering, sauté carrots and onion in butter or oil until tender and add spice packet. 4. Stir veggie mixture into peas; add milk if desired. Simmer an additional 20 minutes. Cooking times may vary.
