Then turn up the heat to medium-high. Perfect Waffle Tips: You know your iron is ready when the drops of water sizzle and disappear. Your waffles will stick if the iron is too cool or brown too quickly if it is too hot. Mix your waffle mix and water in a bowl. Mix it until it's silky smooth, you don't want any lumps. Perfect Waffle Tips: Toss those ingredients into bowl and stir it all up with a whisk or spoon just until lumps are gone. Pour on a little less than 3/4 cup batter onto your hot waffle iron, then close it up tight. Cook ‘em Up: 3 to 4 minutes until they're golden brown. Now you're ready for waffles!
