Anne's Original Flat Dumplings

Keep frozen. Old Fashioned Chicken and Dumplings: 1 - chicken (salt and pepper); 1 - pkg Anne's dumplings. Cook chicken until tender in 4 quarts of salted water. Remove chicken from broth. Cool chicken and remove meat from bones. Add enough water to broth to give 5-6 qts of broth. Bring to a boil. Remove dumplings from freezer 5 minutes before cooking. Separate each layer of dumplings as needed and drop 8-10 in boiling broth stirring them lightly. As broth comes back to a boil add 8-10 more dumplings. Continue until all dumplings are in the pot. Cook at a full boil for approximately 8-12 minutes or until tender, stirring lightly to keep dumplings separated. Add cooked chicken meat back to pot. Boil two (2) more minutes. Remove pot from heat, cover and wait 20-30 minutes before serving. Note: For easier separation of layers, remove dough from box and microwave 15 seconds. Any strips not used may be refrozen. Fried Pastry Strips: Fry strips in deep fat at 350 degrees until light brown. Drain. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar or a powdered sugar and cinnamon mixture. Delicious.
